Weekly Dose of Metal: The Agonist
This week’s dose of Metal is The Agonist. I don’t think they’re particularly amazing or groundbreaking, but they have a few catchy tunes and the chick is hot (wahey).
Normally, I post a picture above and then embed a streamed sample of a song below, but this time you get the entire official video above. Why? Well, I guess a video of a hot chick is hotter than a picture of a hot chick, right? Actually, to be honest, it’s mostly just because I’m lazy, but pretend I didn’t just say that.
You can watch the video for ‘business suits and combat boots’, taken from the band’s 2007 debut, Once Only Imagined, above.
‘Bang your own head, not a seal’s’
Talking of sexism (see previous post), Alissa White-Gluz of The Agonist recently had something important to say in a video, but I wasn’t paying any attention ’cause she’s hot. No, but seriously, of course I was paying attention.
Alissa has joined with peta2, the youth animal rights organization, for an advert opposing Canada’s annual seal slaughter. The ad shows Alissa above a photo of a baby seal who is about to be clubbed and reads, “Bang Your Own Head, Not a Seal’s.” More information can be found over at Blabbermouth.
A lot of people aren’t fans of Peta for whatever reason, but I think we can all agree that cruelty and abuse of animals is absolutely despicable, vile, and can not be accepted.
Live streaming metal show tonight
Bored of Family Guy? Disappointed in the fifth season of Dexter? Or do you just simply have no friends to hang out with tonight? How about stream a metal show! It’s a pretty decent show as well – with headliner Epica, Scar Symmetry, The Agonist and BlackGuard.
The show will be live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and will start in two hours (9:00pm EST / 6:00 PST). Click here for details on how you can view this event
The Agonist mosh Worcester
Some fan-made live footage of The Agonist performing in Worcester, Massachusetts has made its way onto the internet. I live in Worcester, but luckily not the American one. Phew that was close. In all fairness though, jokes aside, I wouldn’t mind seeing this band in action. Take a look at the picture above and see if you can guess why.
In other news, the band are also working on the follow up to 2009’s Lullabies For A Dormant Mind.
Watch the video after the jump.
