Friday Top 26: Heavy Metal Alphabet
We’ve done so many Top 10’s already, but this time we’ve decided to top it all with a Top 26. 26? There was something with 26, right? You got it! The Latin alphabet, that is used in most countries on this planet, has 26 letters.
So what are we going to do with these 26 letters? Well, every band has a bandname, and every bandname consists of letters. Can you follow me so far? We’re going to list the best band for each letter of the Latin alphabet (including their best song and album).
Ain’t that cool, now? It sure is. Make the jump for 26 letters and 26 ear-shattering Metal bands!
Weak Recap: Hello, we’re metal!
We’re one of the last of a dying breed. We’re the Albert Einstein of brutality, the William Shakespear of violence, the Arnold Schwarzenegger of funny, the Michael Jackson of metal. All these comparisons are way off though… because we’re better than those guys and we’re certainly better than anyone else out there, including you!
We’re so good, we’re interviewing each other. Who needs interviews with musicians, who have been interviewed already thousands of times? No one!
So, you want to know what happened this past week in metal? Make the jump, we’ll teach you a lesson.
Four new music videos
I admit it. I suck at coming up with headlines but “Four new music videos” just perfectly explains what this article is all about.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of music videos. If I wanted to watch a film, I’d watch The Social Network but I don’t watch that film because it would depress me too much, considering this site didn’t make me a millionaire and an asshole yet. Well, maybe I don’t need help with the asshole part. My point is, if I want to listen to music, I do listen to music. I don’t need YouTube for that, unless I want to hear my favorite music in shit quality.
But anyhow, I’m pretty sure there are a lot of people who like music videos, and I’ve already posted about a music video earlier today, so fuck it.
After the jump, you can watch new music videos by Yggdrasil, who I included in my latest Spotlight article yesterday, Impious, the Canadian 3 Inches Of Blood and Detonation. Have fun!
Spotlight: Titans Eve, Yggdrasil, Wormrot
You don’t want to be in the spotlight when these guys above are after you but other people deserve to be in the spotlight and that’s why we’re reviewing albums by artists who contacted us via our ‘Your Band’ form. Are you in a band? Do you want to be featured on our site? Click the link and contact us.
Not all artists, featured in the spotlight category, contacted us themselves. Some albums were sent to us via their label or PR agents but that doesn’t lessen your chance. We don’t care who writes to us, we will listen to everything with an open ear. Sometimes even with two.
This week, one album was listenable, one album blew me away and one album surprised me. Make the jump to find out which of these statements fit which band.
